Republicans in the House of Representatives have a very tough speaker fight ahead of them, and only three days with which to resolve it because the new Congress does not get sworn in until January 3rd. And technically though, they can't be sworn in until they have a speaker of the house. And that presents a problem because on January 6th, both full houses the Senate and the House have to meet to certify the election results. And if Republicans do not have a speaker of the House by January 6th, then that means these certification of the 2024 election has to be delayed because Congress will not be sworn in yet. So they've got a fight and they've only got three days to get it figured out. And because of that understanding that that is what's at stake. Donald Trump finally came out this week and endorsed current house speaker Mike Johnson for another term as the speaker.
He wants to put this whole thing to rest. He doesn't wanna fight, even though a lot of Republicans don't want Johnson back in the speakership. But keep in mind, Republicans can only afford to lose like three votes on the speakership or else they don't get a speaker. So Trump came out and said this on social media speaker, Mike Johnson is a good, hardworking religious man. He will do the right thing and we will continue to win. So that was his endorsement. Not exactly the most glowing endorsement Donald Trump has ever given, but an endorsement. Nevertheless. And of course, his little puppy dog, Elon Musk, followed up and said, I feel the same way. You have my full support as if anybody gives a. Because Elon, you're not in the house. You're, you're technically not even in politics, so nobody cares that he has your full support, but I'm sure Trump does. Which is why Elon Musk's next post, less than an hour later, raised more than a few eyebrows because after Donald Trump came out and endorsed Johnson, and Elon Musk was right behind him, oh, I endorsed him too. Boss Republican representative Thomas Massey, said, quote, the endorsement of Mike Johnson is going to work out about, as well as his endorsement of Speaker Paul Ryan. That was Republican representative Thomas Massey, to which Elon Musk then replied, you might be right, but let's see how it goes.
So on the one side, an hour earlier, Elon Musk was like, you have my support too. And then less than an hour later, Elon Musk is replying to another Republican who says, this is a disaster. And Musk is like, maybe it will be you. You, you can't play both sides, ya moron. You're
Either with Trump or you're not. And that's not according to me. That's according to Donald Trump himself. You either blindly support everything he says and does, or you're banished from MAGA world. That's the way he operates. Yet here is Elon Musk coming back again, not even an hour later, and undermining Donald Trump's endorsement. Just absolutely causing chaos. Elon Musk is a chaos agent, and the problem is Musk is a chaos agent. Not because that's what he wants to be, but because he is too stupid to know that he is a chaos agent, right? This is not calculated. This is not planned out. He's not doing this for giggles. He's doing it because he is genuinely a stupid person. So we'll see how it goes. Maybe Musk endorsing Johnson helps push him over the edge. Or maybe Musk saying that Johnson could be a disaster, prevents them from getting a speaker. Either way, it's going to be a total crap show. That honestly is gonna be a little bit fun to watch.
