Miami Beach Commissioner Ricky Arriola joined Start Your Day with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss the city's actions. During the interview, Reed and Hill began questioning Ariola about his track record, past social media posts and controversial rhetoric. When asked about the differences in treatment between white and Black travelers, Reed also pointed out that members of the Democratic Party in Miami-Dade have censured him. Ariola has made controversial comments, including conspiracy theories and anti-science rhetoric about coronavirus.
