4:27Now PlayingOn Monday, ten people, including a police officer, were killed at a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder, Colorado. Start Your Day hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill discussed the shooting and others they call "acts of senseless violence." Reed said those killed "did not sign up for war," and they "just wanted to live," as she described how shoppers were met with violence doing everyday activities. Citing multiple shootings in the United States, Reed said mental health is a real issue that needs to be unpacked. "If you're not stable enough to maybe drive a car or do certain things, you're not stable enough to hold a gun in your hand. You're not that responsible, so we have to do more when it comes to background checks," Hill said. The 21-year-old shooter has been charged with ten counts of first-degree murder.
