Candace Kelley joined “Start Your Day” to talk about the outcome and impact of this verdict. The Department of Justice was initially asking for 18 months for Hodgkins’ part in the insurrection and wound up receiving 8 months.
Hodgkins was convicted for going on the Capitol floor and obstructing procedural proceedings. In the future when someone is convicted of something more serious there will be more jail time, but this verdict will set the precedence for what is expected in the future.
