If it is not extended, it could allow thousands of Americans to be evicted from their homes without roofs over their heads. $552 million was allocated for renter's assistance in Georgia but only $7 million has been used. The Salvation Army has been chipping in during this crisis by spending $98 million in the past six months to help pay rent and mortgages. The federal government extended the eviction moratorium for homeowners to September 30.
