The very infectious Delta variant is more transmissible than the viruses that cause MERS, SARS, Ebola, the common cold, the seasonal flu and smallpox, and it's just as contagious as chickenpox, according to a New York Times article. Also, a CDC study found that even though a vaccination makes it less likely that people will catch the coronavirus, if someone gets it, they are just as contagious as those who are unvaccinated.
Dr. Lakshman Swamy, who is the pulmonary and critical care doctor at Cambridge Health Alliance, Boston Medical Center and an instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss getting people vaccinated.
