In the Negro League, he played for the Chattanooga Black Lookouts, Birmingham Black Barons, Baltimore Black Sox, Baltimore Elite Giants, Pittsburgh Crawfords, Bismarck Churchills, Kansas City Monarchs, Trujillo All-Stars, New York Black Yankees, Memphis Red Sox and Philadelphia Stars.
Paige was inducted into the Hall of Fame because of Red Sox’s leftfielder Ted Williams, who spoke about injustice during his 1966 induction speech. As a result, Paige was chosen as the first ever Negro League player honoree.
Also, Will Smith and Jay-Z are facing backlash for their investment in Landis Technology, a company that turns low-income renters into homeowners. One of the critics, Howard University’s Nikole Hannah-Jones, said on Twitter, “All this program does is charge struggling people additional fees for being poor, which is what every other predatory lender does."
