The Dow Jones fell almost 107 points to finish at 3,501. The S&P went down a little more than four points to close at 4,432 and the NASDAQ went up more than 24 points to end at 14,860.
Also, the German company BioNTech, which partnered with Pfizer to create the first COVID-19 vaccine, had their profits rise in the second quarter this year to $3.3 billion. BioNTech will use its windfall from its mRNA-based coronavirus vaccine to develop drugs to combat diseases like HIV and cancer.
According to the March of Dimes, premature births have cost the United States over $26 billion a year. Black women are three to four times more likely to die as a result of childbirth and pregnancy than their white counterparts.
