10:26Now PlayingRodney Reed has spent more than 20 years on death row in Texas.
He was convicted of killing a white woman he had an intimate relationship with back in 1996, and it was a crime he says he did not commit.
Since his trial, evidence has surfaced pointing to Reed's innocence. Based on that evidence, Texas Governor Greg Abbott granted Reed an indefinite stay of execution five days before his execution date in 2019. As of now, his execution is on hold but remains in solitary confinement on death row.
His attorney, Jane Pucher, joins Laverne McGee on “Making the Case” to discuss Reed’s case.
