Studies show Black women in the United States are more likely to die from the disease, regardless of the stage in which they are diagnosed. Only 69% of Black women start treatment for breast cancer within 30 days. Tammie Denyse started a breast cancer awareness organization after being diagnosed with the disease herself. The organization, Carrie's Touch, is committed to reversing the breast cancer mortality rate within the African American community. She joins "DC Today" with guest host Kelly Wright to discuss breast cancer in the Black community.
