8:01Now PlayingEconomic professor Dr. Linwood Tauheed joins Tashanea Whitlow on “BNC Live” to talk the September jobs report and what it means for Americans and their wallets.
The US hired fewer workers than expected last month, with the latest jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showing payrolls increased by just 194,000 in September. Tauheed attributes a low number of government jobs that were created, such as federal, state and local jobs, for the low turnout. He says it’s likely those jobs weren’t created because of COVID-19 finance issues. Tauheed said what we can take away from this is that both infrastructure bills are vitally necessary to help us get out of this pandemic and invest in our futures as we go forward, otherwise America is at risk of recession.
All this and more on “BNC Live.”
