Father and son pair Greg and Travis McMichael and a neighbor, William “Roddie” Bryan, are charged with murder and other crimes in the death of Arbery after the fatal ordeal was captured on a cellphone video on Feb. 23, 2020.
BNC correspondent Candace Kelley said intense questions were asked by prosecutors and attorneys to determine what exactly can be asked in the trial.
“For example, the defense wanted to ask all the jurors about how they felt about Black Lives Matter,” Kelley said. “Prosecution said, ‘What does this have to do with the case? But it seems Black Lives Matter has become a threshold as to what people think about race.’”
There were also questions about the death penalty and if it should be brought up at all.
