5:02Now PlayingStudents at Howard University staged a sit-in protest demanding better housing and voting rights on the school’s Board of Trustees. The protest has begun to spread like wildfire to other Historically Black Colleges and Universities like Clark-Atlanta, Morehouse, Morris Brown and Spellman University. Strategist and HBCU alum Deandre Gates joined BNC Go to speak about the Howard protest. “I believe in HBCU students and I also believe in our administration,” Gates said. “I think there is going to be a compromise at some point, hopefully sooner than later. As you may know, students at Howard are entering day seven on this sit-in. It’s a true testament of their commitment to the betterment and future of HBCUs.”
