In Louisiana, a white sheriff’s deputy is under investigation after being caught on camera grabbing a Black woman by the hair and repeatedly slamming her to the ground.
Thirty-four-year-old Shantel Arnold was attacked for several minutes, according to her family. The deputy yanked her so hard, he ripped several braids from her head. Arnold was taken to the hospital with a busted lip, bruises and scratches.
Alanah Odoms, executive director at ACLU of Louisiana, joins Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss the incident.
