Dec 6, 20217:33Now PlayingOpening statements will begin soon in the trial of former Minnesota police officer Kim Potter, who is facing first and second-degree manslaughter charges in the killing of Daunte Wright.
The second week of testimony in the trial for Jussie Smollett is also set to resume. The actor is accused of hiring two brothers to stage a racist, homophobic attack. “BNC Live” host Tashanea Whitlow is joined by lead attorney Florina Altshiler and former prosecutor Marie Pereira to discuss the trials. Whitlow asks if Smollett is receiving a “pass” in a world where there is historic precedence of white people blaming false crimes on Black people, resulting in outrage.
