Dec 6, 20214:43Now PlayingJustice for Black America sees another week and another case with the trial of former Minnesota officer Kim Potter on the stand. Potter is accused of killing Daunte Wright, a Black man, during a traffic stop.
“DC Today” fill-in host Kelly Wright is joined by BNC’s chief legal analyst Laura McNeal ahead of opening statements in the trial, which are set to begin Wednesday. Similar to the trial for the three men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery, Wright says nine of the 12 jurors likely to deliberate are white. McNeal notes this case is a bit more “tricky,” based on bodycam footage showing Potter’s reaction immediately following the shooting.
