In life, he held a towering influence over the fashion world, standing at 6-foot, 7 inches tall. Often adorned in the most spectacular of robes, Talley was a fearless advocate for diversity both on and off the runway.
When asked where his fantastic sense of style all began, he would mention his upbringing in Jim Crow era North Carolina and the grandmother who raised him.
