Giant Serial Thief Strikes Again at the Boonton Walmart

Around 11:50 AM on October 23, 2025, officers with the Boonton Police Department were dispatched to Walmart (300 Wootton Street) on report of a female shoplifter wearing gray pants and a gray shirt who was walking towards the Delizia Pizzeria. Patrolman George Westenberger located a female who matched the caller’s description, and he detained her as the officers investigated a shoplifting. Patrolman Slaughter and Detective Dencker met with loss prevention in the store. Loss prevention advised them that the female stole $450.51 worth of merchandise and walked past all points of purchase with a shopping cart full of stolen items.

Patrolman Westenberger asked the female for identification, but she claimed that she did not have any. She initially refused to identify herself, before later identifying herself as 23-year-old Candie House from Wayne, New Jersey. When loss prevention attempted to stop her, an unidentified male grabbed the shopping cart from Candie. Afterwards, Candie attempted to run towards Wooton Street on foot before she was detained by Patrolman Westenberger.

Candie admitted to another officer that she attempted to steal from Walmart. After their investigation was complete, Candie was informed that she was being placed under arrest for trespassing. Patrolman Westenberger placed Candie in handcuffs, escorted her to the patrol car, and transported her to the Boonton Police Department for further processing.

She was charged with shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1)) for this particular incident. The complaint was reviewed by Assistant Prosecutor Herda and Municipal Court Judge Wubbenhorst. After Judge Wubbenhorst approved the warrant, Candie was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility and lodged pending her appearance before a judge.

Court records indicate that this particular incident was disposed of in the Superior Court on December 1, 2025.

-Theft (2C:20-3A) and hindering (2C:29-3B(4)) in Parsippany, NJ on June 21, 2023

-Shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1)) and conspiracy (2C:5-2A(1)) in Hanover Township, NJ on July 25, 2022
