0:36Now PlayingCongresswoman Tulsi Gabbard spoke on the House Floor today in support of bipartisan legislation to improve veterans' access to mental healthcare:
"They bear the brunt of the human cost of war with an average of 20 veterans committing suicide every single day. Their families carry this sacrifice and this cost throughout their lives and the rate of mental health and substance-use disorders have been steadily rising since 2001."
Gabbard says the bill would also mandate the Office of Veterans Affairs to provide annual reports to Congress on these services for our veterans.
