Law and Journalism: Andrea Burkhart, Delphi, Lawtube and more

I'm looking forward to talking with Andrea tomorrow - journalists get a bad rap. And - unfortunately - some of it is earned. Too many reporters trade access to the powerful (State, government, celebrity, etc.) at the cost of holding the powerful accountabile.

That's not the job. And anyone telling you otherwise is selling you a line of garbage.

I'm very, very critical of media, reporters, journalism, etc. But, I also know that much like defense attorneys - journalists out here doing the real work of investigative journalists are fundamentally misunderstood.

"I’ve known for years that mainstream legal journalism is generally terrible - littered with inaccurate takes by reporters with no legal education or experience who don’t understand what they’re watching or the significance of what is taking place. What I didn’t realize then is how many people shared my hunger for reliable, high-level legal reporting and analysis and sought to better understand the workings of the legal system as well as the larger role the rule of law plays in building and maintaining a cohesive society."

So, Andrea and I are going to chat through #delphi - and her first hand experience on the ground with reporters, youTubers, podcasters and others, the First Amendment (for reporters, citizens, protests and what is and isn't a thing), and a landslide of recent filings which - in my opinion - the local MSM is still getting really, really wrong.
