Fox News Targeted by Liberal Media For Reposting Story About Cosby Show Actor Geoffrey Owens

Fox News is under fire for essentially re-posting a story that originated from Daily Mail about former Cosby Show actor Geoffrey Owens, who starred as the husband of Cosby’s eldest daughter, Sondra. On Fox News’ website, the story was about Owens now working at a Trader Joe’s, apparently bagging up groceries. Many people were upset that this story would appear on their website, alluding to racism coming from the conservative network. A hashtag was spawned from the whole brouhaha - #ActorsWithDayJobs. Actors and other celebrities from around the world rushed to his defense.

But the reality is much different than what virtue-signalling actors would like for it to be. Fox News did not break the story. Throughout the very short article on their website, they cite Daily Mail, which is where the story broke. And the reason why Daily Mail was able to break it is because a black woman who was shopping with her wife (yes wife) took the picture of him, gave it to them, and explained what happened.

The story is truly a nothingburger, but it points to a larger issue of fake liberal outrage at anything conservative. If the actor in question were known to be a “Trump supporter” then there would be no outrage at all. A simple “where are they know” type of story would remain that, rather than some big civil rights-style type of issue for 48 to 72 hours on Twitter.
