Jim Acosta's Press Pass Reinstated by Fed. Judge After CNN Lawsuit Due To 5th Amendment (REACTION)

Jim Acosta of CNN scored a “victory” of sorts when his press pass was restored by Federal Judge Timothy Kelly after a lawsuit on his behalf by CNN against the White House staff and Trump himself. Text of the lawsuit essentially stated that Acosta’s first and fifth amendment rights were being violated since he was not able to do his job properly and that there was no process behind the revocation of the pass. The judge agreed with CNN only only on 5th amendment issue of due process, not on the first amendment issue of freedom of press.

President Trump has spoken out briefly after the decision was handed down. He said that he respects freedom of the press and speech, but people must exhibit some sense of decorum. Yelling over other reports, blocking their freedom of speech no less, and not sitting down after you yell out multiple questions does not display any semblance of decorum.

There may be an appeal to the decision, which is actually only temporary itself. Judge Kelly said that it is not against the rules to revoke someone’s press pass, but in order to do so there must be some type of process. What that process is may not be clear to most. In the case of Jim Acosta, the case should be initiated right away so this whole debacle can be over and so he can stop becoming the news… rather than reporting on it.
