Christopher Brasher reports on the moving of an ancient house in Hereford to make way for a new development. The old house has been reinforced, carefully mounted on hydraulic jacks, and will be pulled along steel tracks - an inch at a time - by two lorries, to a place where it can be safely parked. The plan is for it to be placed in the corner of the new development - a Littlewood's store.
A huge crowd has come out to see this rare event, among them is the engineer in charge of the project, Mr John Pryke. Does he have any concerns?
