Newly engaged couples may find that the time between bending the knee and standing at the altar is longer than expected. According to The Knot, a wedding planning website, an estimated 2.6 million weddings will be held in the United States in 2022. Cupid and his arrows have set a new record high.
Lauren Kay, The Knot's Executive Editor, says, "After the last two years of isolation, stress, and terror, we all want to celebrate more than ever." Wedding planners and vendors across the United States have been impacted by the wedding boom, as many were already anticipating bookings for 2024 due to a slew of wedding postponements.
According to data from Zola, an online wedding gift registry, 17 percent of couples with wedding dates in 2022 had to reschedule their ceremonies.
