1:37Now PlayingPresident Trump on Friday said he was "not happy" with how negotiations with Iran were progressing but would wait to see how further talks unfold.
"I'm not happy with the fact that they're not willing to give us what we have to have," he told reporters before departing the White House for a trip to Texas. "I'm not thrilled with that. We'll see what happens. We're talking later."
The third round of talks was held in Geneva on Thursday between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and White House envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner over Tehran's nuclear and missile programs. The president said there would be additional talks later Friday but that, so far, he was dissatisfied with the progress.
"We're not exactly happy with the way they're negotiating," he said. "They cannot have nuclear weapons, and we're not thrilled with the way they're negotiating, so we'll see how it all works out."
Asked about the risks of the U.S. becoming involved in a prolonged conflict in the Middle East if it launches strikes on Iran, the president said "there's always a risk."
"You know, when there's war, there's a risk of anything, both good and bad," he told reporters.
