2:22Now PlayingSen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) on Monday criticized President Trump’s decision to send ICE agents to airports to assist TSA as the partial shutdown leads to longer lines.
“He’s taking that agency that is recklessly out of control and bringing them to our airports under the lie that somehow this going to help deal with the long lines that he created in the first place,” he said at Newark Liberty International Airport, calling the move an “outrage.”
The New Jersey Democrat called on Republicans to agree to fund the rest of the Homeland Security Department, including TSA, while negotiations continue on reforms to immigration enforcement operations.
“Fund TSA and get ICE out of our airports,” he demanded.
