YouTube Description
as posted by the channelFormer Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke Wednesday about why the Obama and Biden administrations favored a diplomatic rather than military solution to handling Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
“It’s a — at best — a temporary fix, and it could actually ultimately make the problem worse because they will rebuild. They’ll build it underground in ways we can’t get at so easily. And maybe we’ll buy a year, maybe we’ll buy two years,” he said of President Trump’s military approach.
“But if you can get a diplomatic deal, you might buy a lot longer. Yes, you have to pay for it. That’s the challenge. But I think that’s still a better bargain than this military deal with all of these unintended consequences that many of us gamed out but apparently were not factored in this time.”
