5:38Now PlayingSidney Zambo had been diagnosed with terminal throat cancer 18 months before the CfaN Gospel Campaign in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The same terrible disease had already taken her mother’s life. Now Sidney herself was close to death. She had been praying for healing since her diagnosis. But recently the sickness had progressed rapidly to other parts of her body. She became bedridden with pain, and only able to drink liquids and eat a few soft vegetables. She found some strength to read her Bible. But soon she got so weak she could not speak or move. It seemed the end was near.
“The tumor was inside my throat. It felt really big. One night I went to sleep, and in the morning my voice was completely gone. I was not able to speak again.
I lost weight and had no appetite. Everything in my body started changing; even my skin started hurting. I believed in my heart that I was going to die from this cancer. I was so afraid because this same cancer killed my mother. She had gone to the hospital and even had surgery. Three months later she was dead.”
Sidney came to the Gospel meeting with her sister and eight-year-old daughter in December 2013. She was very close to death. An usher had to carry her to a seat in a special section for those desperately needing prayer. “I had so many problems when I got there,” Sidney told CfaN. “My legs were paralyzed. I had a serious stomach problem and a lot of pain in my chest.”
“I was saying in my mind, ‘God, please don’t let me leave here the way I came!’ Then the servant of God was praying, ‘There’s a young woman who has cancer of the throat. God is healing you right now!’” As Daniel Kolenda continued to pray in the Name of Jesus, something happened to Sidney.
“I felt something like a wind pushing me from behind, and I fell off my chair to the ground. When I was on the ground, I vomited out the tumor. It looked like a piece of raw meat. Then suddenly I was standing on my feet!”
With encouragement from the crowd, Sidney trembled as she made her way to the stage to share what God had done.
“I was overwhelmed as I stood there. Everything was new.” For the first time in four months, Sidney was walking! And for the first time in months, she was able to speak!
“I felt joy,” she recalled. “I wanted to dance with the others, and I did!” Sidney danced onstage with Daniel and other team members. God had performed a mighty miracle!
“God healed me of cancer of the throat!” Sidney told CfaN the next day when the film team visited her. “I could not eat anything before. I could only drink a little. Now I can eat! He healed me of the paralysis in my legs, and now I can walk! And he took away all the pains in my body!”
“I would say to everyone reading my story, that Jesus Christ is the same today as yesterday! Put your trust in Jesus, no matter what the situation. He will bring a solution for your life, too! Just trust Him!”
