This video is a response to Nickmercs and XQC's handling of the DMCA situation. A popular clip from Nickmercs and TimtheTatman over the recent DMCA issue on Twitch sparked this video. With hundreds of Twitch streamers deleting their content including years of history in VODs, clips, and shared content on their channels, a few have decided to not delete it.
I'm making a series of videos to show how serious the DMCA issue is. I have deleted all clips, VODs, and highlights on my channel and no longer rely on the channel as a place where VODs can be stored. Twitch has proven itself to be a livestreaming platform only and has no long term sustainability as an evergreen platform as of this video.
From 2019 to 2020 Twitch has been taking a turn for the worst. I think we're entering its darkest timeline with the introduction of DMCA and the incoming pressure of the RIAA and music industry. Twitch will have to work hard to get through. Streamers need to really comply with DMCA and not take risks right now.
