I don't normally cover drama topics. XQC's Twitch ban is his fourth, and they're not particularly exciting. XQC banned from Twitch is nothing new. XQCow pushes the brink of content and when you do that to be the most popular Twitch streamer, you're going to take risks that might get you a Twitch ban. This time XQC was banned from Twitch for stream sniping Dr. Lupo.
This ban was interesting to me for a different reason - it revealed a lot of the business reasons behind why Twitch made this ban and how they made the ban. This ban was notably from Twitch Rivals and the Trust & Safety Team, which is abnormal. The ban was issued in conjunction with a restriction and an esports ruling. This says a lot about Twitch esports, Twitch Rivals and the future of Twitch as a platform.
I didn't see anyone cover this aspect of it so I decided to talk about it. This has pretty enormous implications for Twitch Rivals and Twitch's plans in esports going forward.
