1:30Now PlayingAn April 2025 NYTimes Magazine article by Paul Tough questioned how we've been thinking about ADHD. He suggested that what researchers have discovered about ADHD isn't always represented in what clinicians do to explain and treat ADHD, and that patients and the general public have many misconceptions about ADHD. I think these are valid points. However, Tough then spent much of his article attacking the ADHD research(ers), often misstating the significance and relevance of many of the studies he cited. So his thesis is that research isn't well translated into practice, but then he focused on challenging the research.
