Pressed on how attacking Iran would benefit Americans in his district, Mike Lawler pointed to Iran’s support for Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis, and repeated unsubstantiated media claims that the groups are operating in Venezuela and posing a threat across the western hemisphere.
He pressed our correspondent Julian Andreone to acknowledge Iran as “the greatest state sponsor of terror.” When he didn’t, Lawler accused him of having an “agenda” and abruptly ended the exchange.
