Jimmy Kimmel gave an interview to the New York times recently it was published this week and during the interview, Jimmy Kimmel absolutely torched Tucker Carlson for the lies that he's not only peddling to the United States, but the lies that are getting people sick and killed. And in fact, he compared them to one of the most notorious drug pushers in this country. And that would be the Sackler family. The makers of Oxycontin here is what Jimmy Kimmel had to say. And of course his time on the man show and his evolution since then is actually something talked about in the interview as well.

I think he's a phony in every respect. I think he's an algorithm. I think his audience created him. I think he started out as a fairly down the middle political broadcaster, an cute little bow tie with polka dots on it. Then John Stewart handed him his, which is also wonderful. If you haven't seen that. and he had some kind of Lex Luthor moment where he little by little figured out what worked for him, ratings wise, which is primarily speaking to senior citizens like their kindergartners and scaring them with garbage again to totally not wrong. Now I disagree to an extent about just letting Tucker be Tucker.

And if you don't like him, don't watch now. Here's what I would like to see. I, I don't think we should just pull Tucker Carlson off the air, even though of course he has spread dangerous. COVID misinformation that undoubtedly has gotten people killed. But, and I think what we should change with our laws here in the United States is that you should be able to Sue these people. And I'm not talking about for defamation. I'm talking about to hold them liable in civil court for damages that they may cause to individuals who take their advice. I think that's as thing that should be able to happen. That is what I would like to see changed. Cuz once these people start losing their own personal money because of the lies they're peddling and this goes beyond Fox news, but to anybody in broadcasting, if you tell a lie that gets people hurt, killed, or sick, you should have to pay up for it.
