He earned his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University and was a Miller Research Fellow at UC Berkeley. His research focuses on parallel and high-performance computing, where he designs efficient algorithms and data structures, with a recent emphasis on graph analytics, spatial and graph clustering, and dynamic algorithms. Julian also works on high-level programming frameworks to simplify writing efficient parallel code.
