8:03Now PlayingHave you ever heard of the Brno Death March (1945)? Thousands of Germans were forced to march to the Austrian border and because of the conditions many died. This was not an incidental case. The flight and expulsion of Germans happened on a large scale. During the Potsdam Conference it was agreed that states had to be ethnic homogeneous. And thus Germans were expelled from the former eastern German territories as well as from other places in Central and Eastern Europe. This went hand in hand with violence. In Czechoslovakia the Ústí massacre (1945) took place were Germans were killed by mobs and militia.
