The Truth About Rheinwiesenlager (Rhine Meadow Camps)

The Rheinwiesenlager (or Rhine Meadow Camps) were a series of temporary internment camps established by Allied forces in Germany in the aftermath of World War II for German prisoners of war.

Conditions in these camps varied, but they were often overcrowded and lacking in proper facilities. Food and medical care were sometimes inadequate, leading to suffering and disease among the detainees. It's important to note that the establishment of these camps and the treatment of detainees in them have been a subject of controversy and criticism.

However, the Rheinwiesenlager served as a temporary measure during a chaotic period of post-war transition, and they were eventually closed as conditions improved. Recently a fake story has been spread on the internet stating millions were deliberately starved on orders of General Eisenhower. In reality 3000 to 6000 perished, most of these were already in poor shape upon entering the camp.
