1:14:10Now PlayingOn tonight’s show, I’ll be talking about Trump claiming he’s close to a deal with Iran -- while also threatening to bomb them at a “much higher level and intensity” if they don’t agree. Which, funny enough, doesn’t exactly scream “we’re close to a deal.”
The proposed deal reportedly looks like a one-page memo that ends the war, opens a 30-day negotiating window, gradually lifts the Hormuz blockade, and starts easing sanctions. In other words, after all the bombing, all the chest-thumping, and all the “Epic Fury” nonsense, Trump may be backing into something that looks a lot like JCPOA 2.0, Obama's deal that Trump threw out -- except with more dead people, higher gas prices, and a lot more propaganda.
And that’s the bigger point: What did this war actually accomplish? US intelligence reportedly says Iran is still 9 to 12 months from building a nuclear weapon -- basically where it was before Trump attacked. Former officials are already saying the nuclear program wasn’t destroyed, the regime is still intact, the missile program was degraded but not eliminated, and Iran’s support for proxies is still alive and well. Meanwhile, the Washington Post says Iran hit far more US military assets than the administration admitted. So Trump’s version is: they respect us more than ever, America is the hottest country in the world, and everything is going great. Reality appears to have other plans.
I’ll also be getting into the Kash Patel clown show -- because apparently the FBI director has personalized “ka$h” bourbon bottles and swag while his FBI is reportedly investigating a journalist who embarrassed him. Then there’s Trump’s billion-dollar ballroom, which started at $200 million, became “only” $400 million, and now may cost at least $1 billion -- while he had the FBI investigate the Fed chair over construction overages. Add in higher airfares, credit-card spending through the roof, Melania laughing about Trump’s “empathy,” Russia bombing Ukraine after pretending to care about a ceasefire, and even the pope basically calling Trump out for lying -- and, yeah, we’ve got a show.
