Jason Williams said he was returning to his Logan Square home when his security app notified him of a potential break-in. Williams grabbed a large, heavy frying pan and confronted the would-be burglar, chasing him out of the house. Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie breaks down the burglary gone wrong.
Williams was set to be a victim of one of the over 10,000 burglaries and robberies each year in Chicago. The video shows the suspect slowly walking out of the home before sprinting when he realized an armed Williams was behind him. Williams chased the suspect around neighboring yards before taking a swing at the suspect. Police arrived just seconds after the suspect ran outside the gate. The suspect was taken into custody after surrendering.
