Wendi Adelson said her relationship with rocky with Markel and she ultimately chose to end their marriage. She testified that Charlie Adelson never mentioned hiring a hitman to her specifically and if he ever did make such a statement, it was as a joke. Prosecutors believe Charlie Adelson recruited three people to kill Markel so Wendi Adelson could have full custody of the children they had together.
