Brian Walshe Sentencing Tomorrow + Nick Reiner Update

Brian Walshe will be sentenced tomorrow for the murder of his wife Ana.

Tonight, we’ll talk about what does matter heading into sentencing: what the jury convicted Brian Walshe of, what Massachusetts law requires, and what the judge may be deciding tomorrow. We’ll also talk about whether pending legislation could affect parole eligibility down the road — and what it would and would not change.

We’ll also briefly touch on Brian Walshe’s prior art fraud case.

Finally, I’ll give a quick update on the Nick Reiner case in Los Angeles — including why recent surveillance footage circulating online may impact the case, including questions of competentcy and the insanity defense.

On New Year’s Day 2023, Ana Walshe vanished without a trace—leaving behind three young sons. Hours later, police say her husband Brian Walshe was googling how to dispose of a body. Police say they found blood in the basement and in a trash container miles from the Walshe home. But they have never found the body of Ana Walshe. Now Brian Walshe is on trial for the murder of Ana.
