Florida law has something called personal injury protection, which means everybody in Florida is obligated to have at least 10,000 dollars of personal injury protection, if they operate a motor vehicle. That personal injury protection covers you for your injuries at 80% for up to 10,000 dollars. In addition, many insurance policies will cover lost wages, normally up to 60% out of that personal protection benefit pool.
