For years the Western establishment has pushed the narrative that Moscow is on the verge of invading Europe, that Putin is some modern-day czar with dreams of conquest, and that only NATO’s ever-expanding military budgets stand between freedom and tyranny. Ritter isn’t buying it, and neither should you.
He points out the obvious: it’s NATO, not Russia, that has crept closer and closer to the Russian border. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the alliance promised it would not expand eastward, yet it did so relentlessly, swallowing up former Warsaw Pact states and placing missiles right on Russia’s doorstep. The Kremlin has been shouting “enough” for decades, yet Washington and Brussels pretend they never heard.
Ritter dismantles the media’s scare tactics about Russia’s so-called “unprovoked aggression.” In his view, the real provocateurs are the NATO strategists who treat Eastern Europe like a chessboard, moving pieces without regard for the lives of the people who live there. He warns that the lies are not harmless—they justify endless spending, they keep Europe dependent on American protection, and they push the world closer to a catastrophic conflict no one wants.
The takeaway from Ritter’s analysis is stark: NATO’s propaganda is about power, not peace. The truth about Russia is hidden, distorted, and censored because if the public knew the reality, the war drums would fall silent overnight.
