28:13Now PlayingGovernor Mark Dayton spoke to the press corps on Tuesday, December 13, after releasing a letter to legislative leaders calling for a decision on whether to hold a special session. The letter reminds the four caucus leaders of their agreement on December 2nd to hold a Special Session on Tuesday, December 20, to provide relief to Minnesotans experiencing soaring health insurance premiums and, if possible, to pass the failed tax and bonding bills from the 2016 legislative session.

Governor Dayton also vowed that he will not run for Governor in 2018, offered his perspective on the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority’s luxury suites, and talked about the next steps in choosing members of the new Legislative Salary Council, a measure overwhelmingly approved by voters in the 2016 election which creates a bipartisan citizen panel charged with setting lawmakers’ salaries.
