23:02Now PlayingGovernor Mark Dayton met with the press Thursday, December 15, to discuss the approaching 5:00 p.m. deadline for reaching an agreement on holding a special session on Tuesday, December 20. The deadline for special session would address health care premium relief, tax and bonding bills.
The Governor has extended the deadline to call a special session on only the health care bill to Friday, December 16, at noon.
Governor Dayton said that Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk is supportive. Senate Majority Leader-Elect Paul Gazelka released the following statement:
"Senate Republicans are at the Capitol today, ready to continue working on a special session agreement with anyone who’s willing. No matter what, we look forward to a new dynamic in 2017 when Senate Republicans are in the majority."
