13:29Now PlayingAt a State Capitol press conference Monday, March 27, Senate Republicans presented the portion of their Advancing Minnesota agenda aimed at promoting job growth in the state. The bill would provide $208 million dollars for programs such as the Minnesota Investment Fund, the Job Creation Fund and the Redevelopment Grant Program. Other programs would utilize public-private partnerships to aid in workforce housing, training and retraining programs, and job creation initiatives. The plan also commits $20 million dollars to increase broadband access in underserved areas of the state.
In closing, the chair of the Jobs and Economic Growth Committee, Senator Jeremy Miller, R-Winona, said, “We want to work together with our communities and the companies in the state of Minnesota to promote job growth as well as economic and workforce development opportunities throughout the state of Minnesota.”
The measure awaits Senate final action.
