Further, one in five serious vehicle crashes can be attributed to distracted driving. Senator David Osmek, R-Mound, joins Capitol Report moderator Shannon Loehrke to outline his bill that would raise the penalties on distracted driving convictions.
Senator Jim Carlson, DFL-Eagan, also has authored multiple bills over the years intended to keep drivers' focused on the road. One of his measures would require hands-free technology while driving a vehicle. He joins Shannon to discuss his proposal and share his thoughts on action to limit distracted driving.
