1:47Now PlayingExpert: Uday Wavikar, VP Consumer Court Bar Association, Maharashtra and Goa.
Question: My father’s building went into redevelopment. The work has delayed but we eventually got possession after 5 years. The construction quality is poor, there is seepage everywhere and we have got 50 feet less area. Can we seek legal redressal?
Answer: For low construction quality you can file either a civil case or a consumer complaint. File a case/complaint against both developer and society. Get a report on your flat/building from a qualified architect. You can approach consumer court for delay in possession. You can also claim compensation for delay in handover.
