Tamil Nadu Government passed an order on 7th May claiming that it will collect the ticket fare from the State to which the migrant people are travelling and if they are unable to pay, State will use SDRF fund and send them for free.
But in reality, Tamilnadu seems to be overwhelmed by the number of migrants workers who wish to go back.
Every day, migrant workers without a shelter to stay are seen thronging around Central or Egmore Railway station hoping that they can’t catch a train based on a rumour that if there is space, they can go even if their ticket is not confirmed.
