The letter has a black man's image next to it. That is the example given in the textbook here. West Bengal Education Minister has sent out a clarification here, stating that this book was neither published nor prescribed by the state government. The state government has warned schools if they prescribe textbooks without the education department's knowledge or go ahead with such content, they will be penalized.
