Many people have reported of bloated bill claiming that the bill is amounting twice as much as they would pay normally. The electricity providers, however, blame the exaggerated bill, as a result of more consumption of power during the lockdown, summer season and sometimes due to not marking the actual rating because of the Coronavirus crisis.
The people from Mumbai narrate their stories of receiving amplified bills. Samir Patil says that he received almost ₹ 12000 bills, thrice more than the average amount. The Maharashtra Electricity Minister, Nitin Raut also speaks on this issue.
